Job Title: COBOL Developer (Mainframe)

Job DescriptionThe State of GA (GDOL) is seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe Developer to support development, maintenance, and enhancement of legacy systems. The candidate will work on COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS , providing production support and contributing to modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL mainframe applications
Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Modify and test batch jobs, reports, screens, and queries
Perform code reviews, debugging, and issue resolution
Execute unit testing and validate results
Analyze and correct data issues and generate reports
Prepare technical and user documentation
Support production systems and troubleshooting activities
Assist in COBOL to web-based application migration initiatives
5+ years of experience in COBOL Mainframe Development
Strong experience with:
COBOL
JCL
DB2
CICS
Control-M
Strong understanding of SDLC (Design Development Testing Deployment)
Experience in debugging and production support
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Experience with Java / Open Systems
Exposure to AWS or cloud environments
Experience with PostgreSQL
Familiarity with Kofax
Experience in application modernization projects
