Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elder Law Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel specializing in issues affecting seniors and their families, ensuring they receive comprehensive guidance on estate planning, guardianship, Medicaid, and other elder law matters. Your expertise will help clients navigate complex legal landscapes with confidence, empowering them to protect their assets and secure their futures. Responsibilities

• Advise clients regarding MA eligibility, spend-down strategies and asset protection
• Prepare and file guardianship and conservatorship petitions
• Represent clients in Minnesota probate court
• Draft pleadings and related legal documents
• Communicate with county agencies, care facilities, and financial institutions
• Manage multiple client matters with attention to detail and deadlines

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar
• 1-4 years of experience in elder law including Medical Assistant planning and guardianship and conservatorships.
• Strong knowledge of estate planning, probate and trust administration, Medical Assistance rules, guardianship procedures, and elder rights
• Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis for case law and statutory interpretation
• Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to draft clear, precise legal documents and correspondence
• Familiarity with environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law or other specialized fields is a plus but not required
• Strong organizational skills

Pay: $80,230.31 - $96,621.45 per year
