Position: Network Engineer

Location: New York City, NY***ONSITE***

Network Engineer-strong Arista exp.

We are seeking a Network Engineer (3 5 years of experience) to be assigned to specific project work , with primary responsibility for the migration of server farms to new network infrastructure . This role will focus on planning and executing migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption to services while moving workloads onto modern, resilient, and secure platform

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute server farm migrations to new network infrastructure in coordination with server, application, and security teams.

• Design and implement server access configurations (VLANs, port-channels, ToR/access switches, IP addressing, VXLAN segments) according to reference architectures and standards.

• Support and implement VXLAN-based overlays and related multicast requirements where applicable.

• Perform BAU-related network tasks that support migration activities (VLAN changes, routing updates, interface configuration).

• Troubleshoot network issues using CLI tools and packet captures, including reading and interpreting pcap files (Wireshark, tcpdump).

• Work with Palo Alto firewalls and as part of server farm connectivity and security.

• Support and troubleshoot multicast traffic flows in data center and server farm environments.

• Document migration plans, changes, rollback procedures, and post-migration validation results.

• Monitor network performance and health during and after migrations; respond to issues and tickets within defined SLAs.

Technical Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Expertise in Arista Networks technologies, including spine-leaf architectures, VXLAN, and EVPN.

• Superior Wireshark skills, ability to dissect streams and quickly identify issues

• Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., BGP, MPLS, VXLAN).

• Strong knowledge of Linux

• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, and Git

Soft Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in diverse teams.

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
