Position Summary:

The Nutrition Assistant reports to the Nutrition Assistant Supervisor. Works independently and implements the nutrition meal plan as ordered by the physician and as planned by the clinical dietitian.

Education:

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience:

A minimum of 1 years’ customer service experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read and follow precise instructions.
  • Must be able to comprehend Hospital diets and menus.
  • Requires knowledge of Nutrition computer software and systems.
  • Requires excellent customer service skills to interact with medical staff, patients, family, and other Hospital employees.
  • Requires strong basic math skills and reading comprehension.
  • Requires analytical ability to determine patient adherence to nutritional plans and dietary restrictions.
  • Ability to learn and operate general office equipment.
  • Must be proficient with personal computers and be able to utilize the department software programs.
  • Requires flexibility to cross-train and subsequently cover multiple teams.

Shift:

PRN (As Needed Basis)

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
