Job Summary:

The Senior Full Stack Software Developer will lead the design, development, and maintenance of web applications using Oracle APEX and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). This role focuses on upgrading and evergreening critical applications by modernizing the technical stack, ensuring security, compliance, and cloud readiness, specifically targeting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The developer will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle and provide technical solutions to support business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications on the Oracle APEX platform.
• Develop backend integrations and RESTful APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
• Translate technical specifications into tested, functional applications with detailed programming and unit testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during software operation, implementation, conversion, and migration.
• Conduct design walkthroughs and collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
• Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Document user and system procedures and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions.
• Analyze legacy application architecture and recommend modernization strategies.
• Optimize application performance and ensure adherence to security best practices.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 10+ years experience in application development using Oracle APEX, including advanced features such as interactive reports, charts, and dynamic actions.
• Strong expertise in Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for backend integration and API development.
• Proficient in Oracle database management, including SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
• Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Understanding of security best practices for web applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Kanban/DevOps methodologies and strong documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Information Management principles and AODA accessibility standards.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with middleware and gateways.
• Background in performance tuning of applications.
• Experience conducting design walkthroughs and technical knowledge transfer sessions.
• Ability to assess legacy systems and recommend future-state architecture.

Special Considerations:

• Must adhere to Ontario's Digital and Data Strategy compliance requirements.
• Work involves upgrading end-of-life software and hardware components.
• Role supports cloud migration initiatives and requires secure, compliant development practices.
• Remote work capability is required.
