Survey Director – Virginia

We are partnering with a well-established engineering and consulting firm seeking a Survey Director to oversee survey operations across Virginia. This leadership role is focused on team management, technical oversight, and strategic growth within a high-performing surveying practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage survey teams across the region, ensuring consistent, high-quality project delivery
• Support business development efforts and identify opportunities for growth
• Oversee project execution including scope, schedule, staffing, and budgets
• Collaborate with leadership to align services with client and market needs
• Implement best practices, quality control standards, and modern surveying technologies
• Mentor and develop staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Promote collaboration and efficient resource utilization across projects
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure overall satisfaction

Qualifications

• 15+ years of surveying experience, including leadership and project management
• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Virginia required
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, GIS, Engineering, or related field
• Strong leadership experience managing teams and multiple projects
• Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills
