Salesforce Project Manager (Salesforce, Jira, Analytics, Sales Operations) Job Overview

This Project Manager role at athenahealth is an individual contributor responsible for end-to-end delivery of Salesforce and Sales Operations initiatives. It combines strong project execution with deep analytical capability to drive portfolio-level visibility, informed prioritization, and measurable business outcomes across various Salesforce and analytics projects. The Sales Operations team supports planning and execution across key business initiatives, partnering with Sales, Operations, Analytics, and Technology to align priorities and measure outcomes.

• Own end-to-end delivery of critical Salesforce and Sales Operations initiatives.
• Drive portfolio-level visibility, informed prioritization, and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability without direct management authority.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance project analysis and delivery patterns.

• An experienced Project Manager with 5+ years in project or program management, ideally in Sales Operations or Salesforce delivery.
• A Salesforce expert with advanced analytical acumen and strong Jira capabilities.
• Someone skilled at translating data into actionable insights to guide decisions and tradeoffs.
• A leader who can drive accountability across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• An excellent communicator capable of clearly explaining status, risks, and recommendations.

• Own the intake process for Sales Operations initiatives, including triage and roadmap planning.
• Maintain the Salesforce and Sales Operations roadmap and portfolio dashboard.
• Lead the weekly portfolio operating rhythm and provide insight-driven updates to stakeholders.
• Manage cross-functional project execution across Salesforce, CPQ, CLM, and analytics initiatives.
• Develop and maintain project plans, creating and managing Jira epics, stories, and timelines.
• Coordinate launch readiness, UAT planning, and post-launch adoption tracking.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools for project analysis and status summarization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in delivery processes and practices.

• 5+ years of project or program management experience, with a preference for Sales Operations or Salesforce delivery.
• Strong experience with the Salesforce ecosystem, including Sales Cloud (required) and CPQ (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with Jira for backlog management, sprint execution, and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to define metrics, interpret data, and translate analysis into actionable insights.
• Proven capability to lead cross-functional workstreams and drive accountability without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate status, risks, and recommendations clearly.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project.
• Project management certification (PMP, PgMP, or Agile/Scrum) is preferred.
• Experience with quote-to-cash processes, operational KPIs, or portfolio metrics is preferred.
