Job Title: Ride-On Pallet Jack Operator (1st Shift) Location: Bay Shore, NY
Position Type: Full-Time / 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Compensation: $17.50 / hour
Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Ride-On Pallet Jack Operator to join our warehouse team in Bay Shore. In this role, you will be responsible for operating an electric ride-on pallet jack (walkie-rider) to efficiently move, stage, stack, and organize products. The ideal candidate that is a detail orientate, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and prioritizes warehouse safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely and proficiently operate a motorized electric ride-on pallet jack to transport goods throughout the warehouse.
- Loading & Unloading: Efficiently load outbound trailers and unload incoming shipments with high accuracy.
- Order Selecting / Staging: Use RF scanners to pick orders, stage pallets for shipment, and ensure inventory is placed in the correct locations.
- Safety & Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections on equipment, report any maintenance issues, and strictly adhere to OSHA and facility safety guidelines.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized workspace to ensure an efficient and safe working environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience operating an electric ride-on pallet jack (experience with other warehouse equipment like forklifts or reach trucks is a plus).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and mount/dismount equipment for an 8+ hour shift, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Gear: Must own or be willing to wear steel-toe boots/shoes.
- Reliability: Excellent track record of punctuality, attendance, and team collaboration.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
