Step into the control room

From the moment your shift begins, you are the nexus between Symbotic's automated warehouse system and the teams that rely on it. You monitor, diagnose, and fine-tune a living ecosystem of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles so the operation hums at peak performance.

Role snapshot

  • Shift: Thursday - Saturday every other Wednesday: 5pm-5am

What you will own in a typical shift

  • Keep a constant watch on system health across automated adapters, vertical lifts, and autonomous robotic vehicles.
  • Dig into complex technical and operational issues, identify root causes, and drive solutions to restore flow quickly.
  • Translate technical details into clear, concise updates for on-site teams and customers; escalate production-impacting problems when needed.
  • Document incidents and patterns, and collaborate closely with engineering to implement durable fixes.
  • Coach and support operators on the end-to-end system, including WMS, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, and related IT troubleshooting.
  • Backfill critical on-site roles as needed to keep operations moving.
  • Partner directly with customers and internal stakeholders to align on performance goals and delivery expectations.
  • Advance continuous improvement and standardization initiatives that raise quality, safety, and throughput.
  • Honor daily safety commitments in alignment with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer procedures.

About the team

You will be part of Customer Operations, the group that runs day-to-day robotic material handling, partners deeply with our on-site customers, and champions operational excellence across safety, quality, and performance.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years working with automated systems.
  • Comfort with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), industrial robots (ABB), and software such as SQL, Linux, and Python.
  • Hands-on strength assembling, operating, and troubleshooting robotics and electromechanical systems.
  • Calm under pressure, adaptable when priorities shift, and driven to keep learning.
  • A high sense of urgency and a collaborative, customer-centered mindset.

Work environment and physical expectations

  • Valid driver’s license with ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer sites.
  • Own a credit card and submit bi-weekly expenses for reimbursement to Symbotic.
  • Frequent walking and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regular work at heights up to 45 feet and in restrictive areas of 24 inches; standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.
  • Routinely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow all safety requirements and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and fall protection.
  • When sites are under construction or as required by safety rules, wear PPE such as hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eye and ear protection, and fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
  • Climb steep stairs and navigate the automation structure by frequently going up and down stairways.
  • Work near high railings and within an environment protected from weather but not from temperature changes.
  • Comfort working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

Compensation and benefits

Base salary range for this location: $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 (final offer depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience). The total package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.
