A professional couple in Oak Forest is seeking an engaging, experienced afternoon nanny to support the care of their two school-aged children, ages 6 and 8. During the school year, this role includes afternoon school pick-up and safely transporting the children to and from after school and activities, overseeing their afternoon routines, providing support with homework and schoolwork, and general household management. Over the summer months, the role will provide general childcare and be responsible for transporting children to any summer activities. The ideal candidate brings consistency and structure, encourages independence, and creates a calm, supportive environment where the children can thrive. The family employs a housekeeper, so no deep cleaning is required. The home also features a pool and while the nanny does not need to swim, candidates should be familiar with water-safety. This position will begin in June 2026 and offers a wonderful opportunity to work with a warm, organized family in a supportive setting.
Location: Oak Forest, 77018
Children: 8 years old girl and 6 years old boy (turning 9 and 7 this summer)
Pets: none currently, but will be getting a dog so must be good with animals
Schedule: Full time with required hours Mon-Fri 230p-630p. Other hours to maintain 40 hours a week will be planned to accommodate all schedules.
Duties will include:
• General childcare
• Tidying up after the children (has housekeeper)
• Light children’s meal prep
• Transporting the children
• General household support (grocery shopping, meet with repair people, light errands potentially to include Amazon returns or dry-cleaning drop offs, household organization as needed)
Compensation:
• Guaranteed consistent hours (40 hrs per week)
• Mileage reimbursement
• Paid vacation (2 weeks) and sick time (5 days per year)
• Paid major holidays
