Job Description

We're Building Something. Are You In?

Homestead Cleaning Company is on a mission to become Michigan's most trusted home services brand. We're not there yet, and that's exactly the point. We're looking for the kind of person who wants to be part of building something from the ground up, not just show up to a job.

If you take pride in your work, hold yourself to a high standard without being told to, and believe that being on time, every time, is a baseline and not a bonus, keep reading.

The Role

As a Lead Cleaning Specialist, you're the face of our brand in every home you walk into. You set the tone, deliver exceptional results, and leave clients genuinely impressed, not just satisfied.

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. You own your schedule, your output, and your reputation.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver high-quality residential cleans that consistently exceed client expectations
  • Lead the pace and energy on every job without needing a title to do it
  • Use our job management app (Jobber) to track time, complete task checklists, and upload photos
  • Execute our "Surprise & Delight" standard: do something extra that genuinely wows the client
  • Communicate proactively with your team about scheduling, updates, or anything that needs attention
  • After every clean, ask yourself: how could this have been even better?

Who We're Looking For

We're hiring for character first, experience second. The right person:

Shows up, every time, on time. Punctuality isn't optional here. Clients are trusting us in their homes. Reliability is the foundation of everything we do.

Holds themselves accountable. You don't make excuses. When something goes wrong, you own it, fix it, and figure out how to prevent it next time.

Has a genuine growth mindset. You're not just looking for a paycheck. You want to get better, earn more, and build something. You welcome feedback and act on it.

Takes initiative without being asked. You see what needs to be done and you do it. You raise the bar naturally.

Wants to win. Not in a cutthroat way, but in a "I care about doing great work and it shows" way. You want to be the best at what you do.

Communicates like a professional. You're warm with clients, reliable with your team, and you don't leave people guessing.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of residential or commercial cleaning experience
  • Reliable transportation
  • Owns basic cleaning supplies (larger equipment may be loaned if needed)
  • Passes a background check
  • Available to work a consistent, committed schedule

Compensation & Growth

  • $20–$25/hr based on experience (rate review after your first 5 cleans)
  • $10–$20 bonus for every 5-star review that mentions your name
  • Weekly performance bonuses
  • Paid training
  • Real opportunity for leadership roles and specialty positions as we grow. The people who join now get first access.
